Applications are now open for the sixth edition of the Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The initial phase of the course will run from 31 August to 11 September 2015 at the Catholic University of Uruguay in Montevideo.
About the IBE Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development
The Diploma employs a dual approach to learning core curricular concepts, combining an intensive two-week face-to-face session with an online phase over a period of nine months. It is intended to train education policymakers, planners, curriculum developers, educators, principals, supervisors, teacher trainers, quality assurance officers, researchers, international staff and other partners in education to make informed decisions aimed at achieving quality curriculum products.
Graduates of previous editions have successfully led and managed significant curriculum reforms and delivered teacher training in their countries. Previous participants have also reported high levels of appreciation for the international component of the Diploma, which allowed them to contribute to the international debate on education and exchange with counterparts from all over Latin America and the Caribbean and other parts of the world. Hence, the Diploma provides critical networking opportunities with curriculum specialists of today and tomorrow.
This initiative is being implemented by the IBE, Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU), and the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO/OREALC). It is made possible with the generous support of the UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers.
