Education specialists will participate in the Experts Review Meeting for Phase II of the APCEIU-IBE-UNESCO project “Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Curriculum Development and Integration”.

UNESCO´s International Bureau of Education (IBE-UNESCO), in partnership with the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (UNESCO-APCEIU), will host an Experts Review Meeting for Phase II of the project “Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Curriculum Development and Integration”. The Experts Review Meeting will take place in IBE-UNESCO’s headquarters in Geneva on August 14-15, 2017.
Following a successful workshop last November, during Phase I of the project, this year, during Phase II, the project continues to support the four beneficiary countries - Colombia, Kingdom of Cambodia, Mongolia and Uganda. IBE-UNESCO and UNESCO-APCEIU provide support in the development and piloting of the countries’ draft curricular and/or pedagogical tools and the monitoring of the entire process that aims to mainstream GCED in education systems-. The Meeting is organized with the main aim of supporting the countries in this process by enhancing national experts’ understanding on the key principles (of GCED?) and (on) strategies of piloting the tools and monitoring this process. A representative team from each county will present the curricular and/or pedagogical tools developed along with the piloting plans.
Staff Members of IBE-UNESCO and UNESCO-APCEIU, as well as education specialists and representatives from the Ministries of Education of the four beneficiary countries will be attending the Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Meeting. All teams will work collaboratively and will exchange ideas and experiences, towards their common aim of mainstreaming GCED in education systems.
