In conjunction with UNESCO’s Teachers Unit and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU in Dubai, UAE), the IBE is planning to launch a Postgraduate Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development for the Arab region from the academic year 2016-2017. During the Diploma planning meeting (Dubai, 13-15 December 2015), the IBE will speak on the vision, attributes, contents and modalities of the programme, and will take the lead in the discussion on its implementation.
In compliance with the accreditation regulations of the University, the Diploma programme will be intended for professionals in education, in particular curriculum developers, teacher educators, service teachers, educational planners, policy makers, and quality assurance officers at the local and regional levels to enhance their competencies in curriculum planning, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and innovation. Following the successful implementation of the Diploma programme in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean regions since 2010, the Arab Diploma is seen as a suitable tool to create a solid building block for improving the quality of curricular designs in the region in a long-run.
