Sharing the outcomes of the International Conference on Education

Workshops co-organized by the IBE, held in the cities of Quito, Cuenca and Guayaquil (Ecuador) on 13-15 May 2009, will discuss the conclusions and recommendations on Inclusive Education. The Ecuadorian Minister of Education Raúl Vallejo Corral, recommended organizing such workshops on the outcomes the International Conference of Education (November 2008) which focused on the theme of Inclusive Education.  The workshops consist of:
  • A working session with UNESCO facilitators, Quito, 13 May 2009
  • Teacher training workshops with conferences open to the public, Cuenca and Guayaquil on the 13th and 14th of May respectively
It is expected that these activities could inform participants of the main issues and challenges of Inclusive Education. This can contribute to the strengthening of the democratic values and practices within the educative system and the community. Furthermore, participants will seek to understand whether the recommendations emanating from the 48th ICE can be integrated within the Ecuadorian education system.  The workshops have been organized by UNESCO-IBE, the National Program of Education for Democracy and the National Division of Special Education of the Ministry of Education of Ecuador, the Ecuadorian National Commission for UNESCO, and in collaboration with the UNESCO Center of San Sebastian.
