Restructuring Secondary Education in the Arab World

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, 4-5 March 2010 As a follow-up to the Regional Expert Meeting on Reform of Post Basic Education (Secondary Education) in the Arab Region, held in Muscat, Oman in April 2009, the 7th Conference of Ministers of Education in the Arab World will focus on “The Structure of Post-Basic Education (Secondary Education) and its Diverse Routes”, on the 4-5th March, 2010. This particular theme highlights the importance of this key stage of education, which puts students at the crossroad between higher education, job market, self employment and other career opportunities in today’s world. The conference will allow for a more in depth discussion regarding the restructuring of the secondary education system.
