Innovating for Inclusive Teaching Training in Mexico

Training teachers to become inclusive educators is essential to attaining quality Education for All. As the basic right to education receives greater recognition and is interpreted in a more holistic manner, children with different needs are progressively being included in general education classrooms throughout the world.

IBE Programme Specialist Renato Opertti will be sharing strategies that empower teachers to address learners’ diverse needs, with an emphasis on pre-service and in-service teacher training. He will also present on the manner in which personalized learning, inclusive curricula and assessment, and professional communities of practice can support educators in overcoming some of the challenges associated with inclusion.

The 8th International Conference Educación Inclusiva: Un Horizonte de Posibilidades (Inclusive Education: A Realm of Possibilities) will take place from June 10-13, 2014 in Monterrey, Mexico. The event is hosted by Escuela Normal de Especialización Humberto Ramos Lozano (Normal School of Specialization Humberto Ramos Lozano), and is sponsored by the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network and the Government of the State of Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
