Education for All: Regional Conference on Enhancing the Quality of Education and Curriculum Development



Tsaghkadzor, Armenia, 29-30 September 2009 The growing number of learners excluded from meaningful participation in the economic, social, political and cultural life of their communities in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be the focus of this follow-up activity to the 47th and 48th sessions of the International Conference on Education. Entitled "Education for All Regional Conference on Enhancement of Quality of Education and Curriculum Development," this Conference aims to further discuss strategies, trends and practices for achieving high-quality education for all through an inclusive education approach. The Conference intends to build consensus on the way forward for possible future activities in terms of high-quality and inclusive curriculum development.  It will bring together high-level experts, policy-makers and curriculum advisors from across the CIS region, as well as representatives from international and local organisations, in order to develop practical and implementable tools and workplans for improving the quality and inclusiveness of education systems in the region.  The annual meeting of the CIS Community of Practice will take place during this event. The conference has been organised in collaboration by the UNESCO Moscow office, the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia and the UNESCO International Bureau of Education, co-organised by UNICEF Armenia and the World Bank Armenia.
